The Cadillac Kings

It’s always a delight to host The Cadillac Kings at St Harmonica’s Blues Club. There are over 100 recordings of band gigs on our Youtube Channel, thanks to the filming and editing of Mark Hawkins, and the CK’s have had more hits than another band at 67k.

'On the road’ since 1999 The Cadillac Kings have played over a hundred festivals across the UK, Europe and Scandinavia & well over a thousand different venues - from Royal Albert Hall to the Band on the Wall, from the Canaries to the Arctic circle.
During this time some of the UK’s most talented young players have been members of the band including guitarist Oliver Darling (currently with Imelda May and Geraint Watkins’ band), and international boogie piano sensation Henri Herbert, now the ‘go to’ pianist in Austin, Texas, both of whom spent a number of years in the band & went on to record award winning albums with the CKs.

Last year the band released their 6th album “Crash & Burn” to 5 star reviews from practically every blues music magazine critic and roots radio programmer across the world. It went straight in at #2 in the UK IBBA Blues charts and in at #1 on the Australian National Roots music chart. The album was recorded and mixed by veteran Decca engineers Dave Williams and Richard Manwaring whose cvs include albums by Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Tina Turner, Eric Bibb and Fleetwood Mac.
Led by frontman Mike Thomas on vocals, harp and slide, the band features the stunning guitarist Mal Barclay alongside the New Orleans’ inspired piano and accordion of Tim Penn, backed up by the ultra solid rhythm section of bassist Paul Cuff and drummer Jason Reay.
March 2024 saw this line-up of the band amongst the final nominees in the British Blues Awards for best UK band and best Album.

Don’t miss them and arrive early to ensure a seat.

The support comes from someone we haven’t see since our old venue in Cannon Hill. Son Jack Junior is back from the USA and raring to play us his solo set of gritty acoustic blues. We’re looking forward to it.

Son Jack Jnr. will play at 8.30pm followed by two sets from the The Cadillac Kings starting just after 9.00pm.
