Spikedrivers

Back

We're looking forward to this Friday when one of the classiest acts on the Blues & Roots scene play St Harmonica’s. Spikedrivers is a band whose music has been described as 'haunting', 'gutsy', 'tribal' and even psychedelic. Blues in Britain says, “From the first note, Spikedrivers demand to be listened to. Ben Tyzack, Constance Redgrave and Maurice McElroy are three very talented musicians willing to experiment and evoke unusual contemporary sounds while they continue to keep diggin’ the blues by the roots.” From the early blues of Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker and Big Bill Broonzy they have added their own blend of north African and Native American rhythms, gospel harmonies, sixties blues and rock guitar. More about them here https://www.spikedrivers.co.uk

And, as an extra special treat, on Friday the Spikedrivers will be joined on stage by legendary pedal steel guitarist BJ Cole. Do not miss this gig

Friday's support act just keep on getting better and better. Kelvin Davies is a glorious guitarist and vocalist and plays original and classic blues alongside his partner in crime Gary Jones who provides harmonica just as it should be played. Lovely stuff

Kelvin Davies and Gary Jones will play at 8.30pm followed by two sets from the Spikedrivers starting just after 9.00pm.
